Pre-natal | Post-natal yoga

Bringing a new life into this world is truly a miracle. It can be a unique and valuable experience. Yoga can help you to have a more manageable, healthier preconception period, pregnancy, and delivery. You will learn asanas (postures), pranayamas (breathing exercises), bandhas, mudras, meditation, and activities to support your journey.

At Yoga by Divya, we know that each woman's pregnancy journey is unique. Therefore, the program is tailored to suit individual needs.

You are encouraged to keep moving during all stages of your pregnancy, but please make sure you have your midwife or doctor's clearance before practicing.

Benefits of Yoga during pregnancy

Yoga provides holistic health benefits for to-be-mothers:

  • Yoga during pregnancy helps keep the body supple. They relieve tension around the cervix by opening up the pelvic region. Yoga asanas prepare to-be mothers for labor and delivery.

  • Yoga and pranayamas can train you to breathe deeply and relax consciously, helping you face the demands of pregnancy and childbirth. Breathing techniques in Yoga provide more oxygen to the body, which is much needed.

  • Pregnancy Yoga helps alleviate the effect of common symptoms such as morning sickness, painful leg cramps, swollen ankles, and constipation.

  • A relaxed mind and lack of stress are the after-effects of practicing Yoga. Moreover, this calmness passes on to your baby. You and your baby are more aligned physically as well as mentally.

  • Yoga asanas also help pregnant women recover faster post-delivery.

How Post Pregnancy Yoga helps:

  • Yoga makes recovery quicker.

  • Yoga helps you balance your 'old' and 'new' life.

  • Manage post-delivery weight gain with Yoga.
